A long drive along the M4 to Earley with our friends Esther and David.
I liked the purple decor and the linen serviettes.
The poppadums and dips were nice and the men said their starter were lovely
They didn't have my usual so had a mixed platter instead and Alan had Chicken Chettinadu.
menu was a little different.
Restaurant too far to travel to without being extra special.

18.5.19 Blue Elephant, Sandford on Thames
Located in a pub, the Catherine wheel.
Lovely curly poppadoms bits, see photo.
Annoying table of drunk people with a girl with extremely piercing voice!
Nice crispy onion bhaji starter.
The noisy tavble left. Hooray.
Alan had Naga chicken.
Lovely table cloths
Nice Elizabeth Shaw mints
8 it may have been an 8 1/2 if a more Indian environment.
1.12.18 Ishan , Newbury
This restaurant used to be Nawab but is now under new manager.
White linen tablecloth and napkins.
Poppadoms a little soft.
Coke, not a full glass.
Quite spicy samosas.
Some variety on the menu.
I've had tastier chicken tikka but it was ok
Service a little slow but is was a race night.
It was better than the old Nawab that used to be here.
Towels weren't hot but we're opened for us.

4.5.19 La La Batley
A bit different. No alcohol served!
Alan said samosas were a little greasy. Robert's mixed keebab starter was massive.
Black and white theme with big crystal chandeliers.
Service was quite good.
Food disappointing though Robert liked his and Sheila said her chicken tikka Masala was nice though when I tasted her masala sauce it was very dry and quite tasteless and thr chicken bits were small.
My sizzler wasn't sizzling. Weird served with rice on the plate. papwr nakins
No tablecloth.

23.2.19 Hook Tandoori
We were really impressed with here last time.
Not so keen this time. #
I wasn't taken with the chutneys.
Alan not impressed with the giant samosas, though he liked his Madras. Lots of chicken In the chicken tandoori and lots of potatoes In the Bombay aloo.
