Last night we visited Gurkha chef Newbury. Food is an interesting twist on traditional Indian meals. I had a shashlik rather than a dry chiken tikka. The dips were a lovely consistency, not too thick and not too runny. Food delicious. Interestingly we had one cracker to share so I ended up with the hat and Alan ended up with the joke.We were in the back room where the decor and atmosphere is lacking. This has led to a 7 rather than and 8 out of 10 for the experience.

12.12.15 Indigo Bay Newbury
Following the St Nic's carol service, we visited Indigo Bay. We have been here several times. The decor is bright and light. There has been a big turnover of staff, the new ones still in training! the dips were a little stratchy. The main meal was good enough, nothing outstanding. 6/10

5.12.15 Indian Lounge Newbury
Out to the cinema to see the latest Bond film followed by a visit to The Indian Lounge in Newbury.
Everything was greasy including the bill!
Poppadums were acceptable but it ended there. The chairs were uncomfortable. The door kept blowing open The music didn't add to the experience. Everything we ate- the onion baji, the chicken tikka and the jalfrezi were all very greasy. The hot napkins were thrown on the table. Couldn't wait to get out of there. I'll give them a 1 for the poppadums. Will not be returning.

Back to our favourite Indian Restaurant in Whitchurch. Out with our neighbours. Food didn't dissappoint. Delicious. Good service. 9/10 . Coke a little flat.
Easily the best of the 40 or so Indian restaurants we have visited

17.10.15 Nawab Thatcham
Went very local this evening to a restaurant we have been to many times. It doesn't seem to be as good as it once was. I had my usual dry chicken tikka and Alan had a madras. Nice selection of chutneys. Nice salad with the tikka. Restaurant a little cold
Overall 6/10

10.10.15 The Palm
Visited The Palm near Hungerford. Been here a few times. This time, we visited with our neighbours John and Chrissie. Since starting my diet my usual dish is a dry Chicken Tikka. Great company and lovely surroundings. Service a little slow but overall experience raised the rating to 7/10.
3.10.15 Masala2 Morcambe
We have been going out for curries most Saturday evenings since Summer 2014. We have visited around 30 different Indian restaurants mainly in the Newbury area.
On Sat 3rd Oct 2015 we ( Karen, Alan and Tesni) were staying in Morcambe and visited the madras restaurant. the decor had a Thai feel rather than Indian but was light and clean. The food was the normal fayre, Nothing special but not bad. Lacked the white tablecloths which was a shame. Feeling a bit tense as the England v Wales world cup rugby match had begun and needed to find a pub to watch it in!
