14.5.16 Nawab Thatcham

Following a fundraiser beetle drive we were joined by Esther and David and visited Nawab. This restaurant as gone down a lot since we first started coming here which is such a pity.
Nice white clan tablecoth, friendly staff, authentic music.
Nice poppadums.
Chicken tikka not on a sizzler.
Bobmay potatoes OK
Good company but food only scored 6 1/2.
The boys!

7.5.16 Redfort Overton

Back to Redfort this week.
Friendly staff. Unfortunatley we were given the same table as last time, right by the serving hatch.
Nice fresh poppadums.
Alan liked the real lemon squeezer.
Chicken in the Chicken Tikka was a little slimy but was served on a sizzler. Once I got past the texture the taste was nice enough.
Alan had a Chicken Naga and was pleased with it.
I liked having the towels opened for us.
Score 7 1/2

30.5.16 Lucky's Newbury

Lucky's in Newbury was our chosen retsaurant last night, parttly due to its proximity to Lcok Stock in Newbury where we were meeting our daughter Tesni.
Our neighbours John and Chrissie joined us and we liked being seated at the front of the restaurant that was a lot lighter than the back.
The surroundings were pleasant and the music authentic. The staff however were not particularly friendly. Chrissie and John  ook a fancy to the mirror behind us but it didn't fit in Chrissie's handbag.
the napikens were opened for us by the staff and the poppadums tasty and crispy, w egot through the mango sauce very quickly though!
the only Indian been was Kingfisher on tap.
Though not described as being served on a sizzler it was still a little disappointing that the Chicken Tikka was served on a plate. Also a let down was no fried onions. The chicken was spicy  .. a little too spicy! Alan however was pleased with his Madras. The table was very crowded and it was elbows in to eat.
I liked it that the waiter opened the towels for us at the end.
